Become A Skills School
Teachers can register their school as a Skills School, to maximize opportunities for their students to learn more about trade and technology career opportunities. The first step for schools to participate in Skills Canada Alberta programs begins with becoming a Skills School. Schools do not have to be a Skills School to participate in a tour at the Provincial Skills Competition. Click here to become a Skills School.
In our continuing effort to ensure that all Skills Canada Alberta programs are accessible to youth in the province, we have made changes to our fee structure. Effective September 1, 2007 we have eliminated the annual affiliation fee of $150 per school.
Instead, schools will be invoiced for an Entry Fee of $50 for each event in which they choose to participate to a maximum of $150 in a programming year (September to June).
Schools Tours of the annual Provincial Skills Competition will, as always, remain free of charge.
As we have done historically, an additional fee per competitor registered is still necessary to ensure the delivery of our high quality programs.
Fees 2008-2009 Skills Canada Alberta Programs and Events (per student):
- Cardboard Boat Races $10
- Young Women Exploring Trades and Technologies Conference $20
- Provincial Skills Competition (competitors) $30
- School Tours are free
We look forward to seeing you and your students this year!
