2010 marks the 9th Annual Girls Exploring Trades and Technology Conference! Held in
conjunction with the Provincial Skills Competition, the YWETT provides young women many opportunities
to discover and explore exciting trade and technology careers available in today's most dynamic
industries. The conference targets young women from Alberta senior high schools who have their careers
top-of-mind and are curious about careers in the skilled trades and technologies sectors. There are many
career opportunities just waiting to be discovered!
The one-day event will feature entertaining keynote speakers, exciting team activities, interesting hands-on
demonstration, tours of the 30+ competition areas, fun contests, great door prize draws and much
more! Mentors will also be available at the conference to share their experiences, answer questions and
participate in informative, interactive round-table discussions.
From computer animation and culinary arts to brick masonry and electrical wiring, the career path
opportunities are endless!
Registration
To participate in Skills Canada Alberta programs, your school must first become a
Skills School
Once a Skills School, teachers register their students for the conference by logging into
www.skillsalberta.com. Registration for this conference is a registration fee of $50/school and $20/student. Following registration an invoice will be sent to your school.
